The antique Victorian ring(that looks more like and engagement ring) that we’re using for our formal ceremony in the fall, that we’re having made. I’m paying that one for myself too.

I can’t wear the Tacori at work, as much as I’d like to. I’m up to my elbows in coffee grounds, Mocha Sauce, and cleansers. I have to keep taking it off and putting it in my pocket. Thus, the plain gold band.
Yes, that was a bit harsh. I didn’t say that I NEEDED all of these rings, it just happened. The Tacori is the ring of my dreams, literally. We found it together with my man’s ring by accident, and we sleep touching each other’s rings. It means the world to me.
I told my FH and myself that I didn’t need an engagement ring, because of our finances. When I realized that I really did want one, I thought it was only fair that I pay for it myself, since I’m the one that changed my mind. We have a mutual love for Ancient Europe, and we chose the signet-engagement ring to suit our wedding’s Venetian Carnivale theme.
As I mentioned previously, I paid for a plain band myself TO WEAR WHILE WORKING AT A MESSY JOB(Tacori’s are NOT suited to sticky sauces and harsh cleansers). I can’t go without my ring for long. If I can’t feel it, I keep panicking, feeling my finger as if I lost it. ALL DAY.
My FH says that he feels the same way, and he has to take HIS off when he’s on duty, too!
My man says that he wants portraits of each ring for our bedroom wall, one for each wedding ceremony(one down, two to go over the next five years!).

We just bought our wedding bands this past weekend, the wedding is 3 months away. Not sure if we should engrave them or not. The thing is, my ring was super expensive (my fiance was adamant on me having that specific one) so we wound up getting him a tungsten ring for now to save money and are planning to upgrade him to platinum too on our 1 year anniversary. Should we even bother getting them engraved if we are planning on changing his ring? Also, my engagement ring is not engraved, if that makes any difference.

I’m thinking a chocolate or cognac diamond for the center, and nine champagne diamonds surrounding it. My friends all say I should do the opposite, but I like the idea of my way better. Besides, with the darker stone it would be easier to get a .33 ct for a good price. I got 10 small champagne diamonds(certified non-conflict, of course) for $11 on eBay!
Because he’d already forked over a great deal of money to buy us a house, and I’m still in school and holding down a part-time. low-paying job. I didn’t want to be that demanding. It’s enough that he’s marrying me. I just wanted this for myself, for our formal ceremony.

well i have this beautiful ring from my fiancee that is my promise ring/engaggment ring and i want it to be my wedding ring. my fiancee however thinks we should get a new engaggment ring like a princess cut or something like that and a new wedding ring. hes like “you can of course keep and wear your promise ring but on your right hand. i want to get you a real wedding ring set.” so my question is do i let him or do i put my foot down and say i want my promise ring as my wedding ring and thats final? so what do i do? im not a selfish person as some of you might think. my ring is just very imortant to me and i dont want to take it off my left had and replace it with a new ring. ya know?
