I was thinking of spending a less than my 2 month income. I was thinking maybe 8 hundred is that bad?

I would like a wedding and reception mixed. Very little alcohol will be involved.My 3 children ages 16, boy 9, boy and 7, girl will also be part of the ceramony. The wedding rings are not included in this budget. Please give me any advice and cheap ideas, the motre help and idea’s. I get, the more I think maybe I can actually afford to make this day the best day of my life. Thanks….Lisa
Yesterday, I noticed that my claddagh ring, which I use as a wedding ring, looked like it had scratches on the heart. It seemed very dull. The ring is less than a month old. So, I had my fiancee take the ring to the jeweler today and she refused to correct the scratches. She says that it’s normal wear and tear and that I will be losing gold if she corrects it. She said that I need to get used to it and that even putting on a pair of gloves can scratch the ring.
To me, the scratches are very noticeable and the ring has lost a lot of its shine. Had I known that gold (the ring is 14k) scratched so easily, I would have bought a cheap wedding ring instead. I’d rather replace a cheap ring than one that cost a lot of money.
So, does anyone know where I can find a cheap claddagh ring in a size 3.5? My size is very difficult to find.
I’d like to wear this ring so that it bears the brunt of my daily activities.

It has already been rhodium plated a few weeks ago. She will not rhodium plate it again because she said that that also takes away from the gold. She said that you should only get it plated once a year.
When I say something cheap, I mean something not gold. Something that I can ruin and not stress out about.
We didnt have much dough when we were married, so we both got fairly cheap wedding rings. I bought her a nice on this year for Christmas and I want to make it a special occasion. Unfortunatly, we will be busy with family all day, so we wont be able to get away on our own. Any suggestions?

I’m planning on asking my GF (age 42), who has lived all her life in Korea, to marry me. I have looked up the marriage traditons here (Korea) and I’m cool with her family. They only worry about her leaving the country and will I have a stable job. But what is the correct way (culturally) to ask? Should I have cheap engagement ring with expensive wedding ring as some say is normal here, or vice-versa? Also, SHould I just buy the ring or ask her first ( I know she will say yes) and then take her to choose. Koreans out there… help?
